Most Lexus owners bought their vehicle for the advanced safety features as well as the performance. The most important safety feature of any vehicle is the brakes system. Lexus equips all of their models with an anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake-force Distribution.

Perfect Fit

Machines calibrated to exact standards produce the calipers so the cylinder and plunger are a tight fit, reducing the amount of contaminants getting into the calipers and corroding them as well as keeping the brake fluid where it should be. The brake pads are also specifically designed to work with Volvo calipers to ensure a smooth, safe stop.

The Lexus Anti-Lock Brakes System (ABS)

ABS helps the driver maintain control of the vehicle during emergency situations when the brakes are deployed. Every Lexus has four-channel, four-sensor ABS, which means that each wheel has its own separate ABS that works independently from the other wheels. Each wheel also has its own sensor that monitors road conditions based on that wheel’s change in speed. This helps the driver control the vehicle in different road conditions such as icy pavement or unpaved terrain.

Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)

Each Lexus also comes equipped with EBD, a system that adjusts the brake pressure at each wheel. This system is enhanced by the Brake Assist, which determines if the driver has depressed the brake enough to engage the ABS in an emergency braking situation. If more pressure is needed to engage the ABS, Brake Assist will apply adequate pressure until the driver releases the brake pedal.
